Galaxy Nails

Base Coat: OPI Nail Envy Dry & Brittle
Base Color: Zoya Storm (Ornate Collection Winter 2012/13)
Stars: OPI Dating a Royal (Mod About Brights Collection Summer 2008), American Apparel Moon, Sally Hansen White Out, Sally Hansen Yellow Mellow
Top Coat: Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat

Stomach flu? Yes indeed! I was pretty much miserable for a while. So as I wait to get cleared to get back to work... I've got time on my hands or nails!

This is the second time I have tried to do galaxy nails. I have such a heavy hand so I will have to work on that. However I am excited to use my new Zoya Storm! It's so pretty. Plus I used a touch of American Apparel Moon so my stars glow in the dark. Unfortunately my camera is totally incapable of capturing the awesomeness. Bleh.

Short post. I have to travel 17 miles to get cleared for work. Why? Don't ask.

Valentines Day Konad

Base Coat: OPI Dry and Brittle Nail Envy
Base Color: OPI Vodka & Caviar (Russian Collection Fall 2007)
Top Coat: Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat

I had a couple of interviews in the past week so that meant boring nude nails for a while. I have been itching to do something more flamboyant. So here it is! Konad galore!

Reason for the Konad craze? Well recently Shirokiya renovated one of their sections that sold Konad. Basically they decided to remove that section so a huge sale on image plates. $2.25 each. Can't beat that price! I raided that section and never looked back.

Anyways I'm done here. I would like to say I have gotten a full time job and will be starting next month hehe.

Plain Nail Wednesday

Back and a bit lazy! Well here's some updates. I received my Zoya nail polish from their Color Your World Promotion on my birthday! If you weren't aware Zoya was giving away 3 nail polishes and you only had to pay for $10 shipping. Awesome promotion! This gave me a chance to try their nail polish out since I'm a Zoya virgin.

Boy I am really impressed. Zoya contains no formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, camphor, and dibutyl phthalate. Also to top it off vegan friendly. Overall very safe nail polish. Plus they make their batches fresh so it's not hanging around in the factory very long.

The nail polish I am featuring today is Faye from their Summer 2011 Sunshine Collection. It's a really lovely deep purple with a hint of pink. The attractive feature is the abundant amount of gold shimmer. It's very distracting while in the sun because your nails will shine like crazy! The formula is very easy and manageable. The picture above shows two layers. One thing I've noticed though is that my nails feels much more lighter. Possibly because the lack of formaldehyde/resin. I won't really know until I try the other two colors. So far I'm happy and will be buying their products in the future.

Plus they have awesome marketing folks. I got a response on my Instagram wishing me a happy birthday. It was out of the blue but I feel like they care :D Time for me to go! Interview tomorrow and have to be up bright and early!

Cherry Blossom Season in Hawaii

I'm back from the grave! So much drama that I'm over it and now moving on. Saturday my boyfriend and I went up to Wahiawa to see if the cherry blossoms have bloomed or not. I'm pretty sure everyone is pretty skeptical that there are cherry blossoms in Hawaii. However Wahiawa is the coldest spot on Oahu which works for these Taiwanese line of sakura. It's nowhere as spectacular as Japan of course. The plants are more like bushes than trees but the Japanese locals love them anyway! I believe they're having a Matsuri this upcoming Saturday. I would love to attend but alas it depends on my work schedule!

Base Coat: OPI Dry and Brittle Nail Envy
Light Gradient: OPI Teenage Dream (Katy Perry Collection Spring 2011)
Dark Gradient: OPI A Sparkle Yule Love (Deck Your Nails ULTA Exclusive 2011)
Topped: Sephora by OPI It's Real
Top Coat: Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat

Moving onto the nail art. I would like to point out these lovely flowers do not last very long after parting from the branches. To preserve them I decided to press them for memories and nail art! I opted to go with the growing trend of gradient gel nails minus the gel part. I started with Teenage Dream and completed the tip with A Sparkle Yule Love. After, I stuck on my dried sakura petals. To add a little more oomph I topped it with 18K gold from Sephora. It kind of reminds me of those abstract Japanese kanji art where there is a touch of gold foil. It's so sparkly and decked out that I keep staring at it! Luckily I didn't use any holo nail polish! Until next time!

Happy New Years!

Happy New Years! Can't believe it's already 2013! I've been super busy figuring how to make the perfect strawberry shortcake for my grandfather's birthday. Today was finally a success! My new years nails was a super quickie using two nail polishes from the China Glaze Cirque du Soleil collection. Their whole line is pretty bright and festive which matches the celebration.

Base Coat: Sephora by OPI 3-in-1 base, top & strengthener
Base Color: China Glaze Trap-eze (Cirque du Soleil Fall 2012)
Ring Finger: China Glaze Water You Waiting For (Cirque du Soleil Fall 2012)
Top Coat: Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat

Not really special but not much time to be creative lol. Until next time!

Yayyyy cake!
