Collection

The China Glaze side

The OPI side

Last night I began to sort out my nail polish collection. Thought it might be fun to set up my whole OPI and China Glaze collection next to each other. Amazingly I didn't buy any blue nail polishes from either brand (It's coming in the mail as we speak. The whole China Glaze Cirque du Soleil is mine!). Of course this contains only part of my collection. Most of my blues are from the Ice brand. Can you guess which one is my most expensive nail polish?

It's the start of Christmas

Picture Fail Part 1

Today is the start of my new blog. That's right my casual nail polish fling has developed into something more. Unfortunately it started out with realizing I can't find a decent digital camera to use! So please forgive the blurry picture from my camera phone. I'll have to work on bugging my boyfriend (aka the photography guy) to let me borrow one of his beautiful cameras.

Another unfortunate note... I recently trimmed my nails. Too brittle and it chipped one too many times (I entirely blame my job for this :D). On a better note I decided to use my newest nail polish OPI Stranger Tides ($3.99 at TJ Maxx) to be my starter for the Christmas Season. I wanted to start with a simple solid with glitter look since I plan to be entirely extravagant with nail art in the upcoming weeks. Muahohoho (Evil Santa never sounded so good).

Base coat: Sephora by OPI 3-in-1 base, top & strengthener
Base color: OPI Stranger Tides (Pirates of the Caribbean collection Summer 2011)
Overlay: OPI Pirouette My Whistle (New York City Ballet Spring 2012)
Top coat: Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

OPI Stranger Tides is a murky light green creme nail polish. Pretty good coverage after the second application. Probably my more favorite greens in my nail polish collection. Very light and not as offending to the eye. Of course I can't have plain old nails. I had to slap on OPI Pirouette My Whistle which contains hex glitters and copious amounts of silver glitter. Simple yet sparkly... mission accomplished.

Two more days until December. Beware!
